2024-25 Faribault Traveling Basketball Registration Info! No Fundraising Requirement!

Our Open House occurred on Monday October 7th.

We are currently still registering all girl grades and 4th grade boys. All other teams registrations are closed.

Program Description

The Faribault Basketball Association’s mission is to teach 4th through 8th grade kids in our community the important life skills of teamwork, respect, community representation and good sportsmanship, all while learning the fundamentals in the sport of competitive environment basketball. 

 

 

Practices

Players typically practice 2 nights (late afternoons/evenings), 2-4 hours, per week. Practice day/times are dependent on school gym space availability. Practice schedules will NOT be available until near end of October due to School District planning/reservation procedures. Practices usually begin in late October or early November (younger grades may start later).

 

Tournaments

Teams participate in 4-8 weekend tournaments (6-25 games), depending on grade level. Tournaments take place late November through late February to early March. Scheduling is currently in progress with dates to be shared as available.

  • 4th Grade - 4-5 tournaments
  • 5th Grade - 5-6 tournaments
  • 6th Grade - 6-7 tournaments
  • 7th Grade - 7-8 tournaments
  • 8th Grade - 8-9 tournaments

 

**Schedules will be finalized and communicated once available.**

 

Please note – occasionally higher than anticipated participation and/or lack of coaches - teams will be organized by a try out process. Refunds are issued as necessary. 

Cost of Registration - $250

  • All grades: $250 payer fee (includes shooter shirt)
  • **SportsEngine fee added for processing.**
    • Do NOT pay for the REGSAVER fee insurance offered from SportsEngine when checking out. FBBA will monitor our season and fulfill refunds as needed.
  • Deposits Required, see below 
    • NOTICE: The only required out of pocket expense to a family is the $250 player fee. Deposits are either recovered or never cashed based on fulfilling requirements. 

 

NO FUNDRAISING REQUIREMENT FOR 2024-25!

  • FBA participates in an annual fundraising effort in order to continue operating with lower registration fees.
  • The 2024-25 season will require families to sell Discount Coupon cards. Details of this fundraising effort will be shared at the Oct 7th meeting.
  • Families will be required to sell 7 cards for single players, or 10 cards if a family has multiple players. 

 

Volunteer Requirement

  • FBBA is not able to operate our annual tournament without parent support. There are also occasionally additional needs which may come up during a season where support may be required.
  • Parents/Guardians are required to complete 5 volunteer hours (8 hours if a family has multiple players). 
  • Volunteer opportunities are during the home tournament weekend and will be posted early January.
  • Required hours may decrease depending on need (5 or 8 hrs are max we ask for).

 

Deposit Check Requirements

Two (2) separate checks/cash:

1) Uniform Deposit:

  • $100 per player (voided upon return of uniform)

2) Volunteer Support*

  • $200  (5 volunteer hrs single player; 8 hrs multi-player)
  • Checks are voided upon completion of volunteer hours
    *Typical one player families are expected to volunteer 5 hours to support Faribault Basketball. Please see the website (DIBS) for multi-player family and scholarship player volunteer requirements. This commitment is based on the actual time required to run association activities. Signing up for volunteer activities is done by the DIBS online volunteer scheduler via www.faribaultbasketball.com
